Welcome to St. Benedict Day Nursery and Children’s Home Inc., a unique Institution dedicated to providing care for underprivileged children of the Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in the West Indies.
Originally opened on July 25th 1963, with a Day Nursery and an Infant Hospital, on February 13th 1968. The Institution has provided countless benefits to the Vincentian community in its more than fifty (50) years of service.
St. Benedict administers an enhanced quality of life to St. Vincent’s most vulnerable and often most neglected citizens: children with no family bond.
The children of St. Benedict’s are provided with a safe, nurturing environment that encourages them to strive and develop individual interests and talents.
As you look through our pages, you will discover remarkable and courageous children and a dedicated staff guided by the Corpus Christi Carmelites (Sisters), striving to help them reach their maximum potential and giving them options in life where there would otherwise be none.
We would also like to invite you to visit St. Vincent and the Grenadines to meet the children and see firsthand, the tremendous work the Sisters are doing.
St. Benedict’s functions on the generous financial support of people like you for its daily operations:
- To send the children to school, medical, social activities, payment of staff and utilities.
- General maintenance of the (new) home, development of other areas – laundry, storage, music centre, etc.
- Upkeep of the Day Nursery with a foresight of a new building upgrade.
Please consider offering your kind donation – every cent counts to help improve the lives of our children.
God bless you abundantly.
